Luiz holds a master’s degree in Development Economics from the Federal University of Paraná (PPGDE/UFPR) and is currently a PhD candidate in Applied Economics at the Department of Economics at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (PPGE/UFJF), with a visiting research period at the University of California, Irvine. He has also worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA). He is interested in Regional and Urban Economics and is motivated to understand the challenges faced by urban centers, with the goal of identifying solutions to improve people's quality of life.
